February 23, 2025 – Rest Day on Saturday

On Saturday we woke up around 6:30-7:00am. I woke up after Johanna. She was finishing preparing breakfast. We had a breakfast of bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. She id an outstanding job cooking the breakfast. Everything was really tasty. She makes one heck-of-a cook. After breakfast, we did our daily letter and gift. This was day 11: 'What If Time Stood Still?' This one was spoken word/poetry with a musical accompaniment. She got all teary-eyed and thanked me/hugged me for the gift and the thoughts of love. After the gift, we engaged in our daily Bible study in the John Coblentz book. We completed part II. Around this time, Angel stopped by and we walked to her house down the road. Then, we walked to the nearest grocery store; a market just outside the subdivision. We bought all kinds of stuff for 20 families that are in need of food and the love of Jesus. We bought 12,000 pesos or about $200 worth of food for the 20 families. We will be giving out the food with Tagalog Bibles today, Sunday, after church service at Victory Every nation Church. We bought so much food! We bought everything from sardines, tuna, and corned beef, to beef load, noodles, rice, and so much more. We hope to really bless these families. They are truly in need of help. mr. Ivan, the manager of the market, and the cashiers help us box up all the food items in boxes. Then came the fun part of taking all the food back to Angel and Ferd's transient home. We hailed two trikes, and loaded both trikes down with the food. Even with all the food loaded, we were still able to squish into both trikes (Angel and I in one trike and Johanna in the other trike). We drove back to the transient home, Angel had to go back to her house for a while, and Johanna and I decided to pack up 20 bags with the various food items. All the bags were packed with the same stuff, so every family will get the same things in their bag as well as a large bag of rice. I can't wait until today (Sunday afternoon) when we go to give the gifts to these families! This is going to be such a blessing.

Afterwards, all three of us got a trike ride up to Robinson's Mall. We were going to go to some gardens, but it was getting too late. We happened to walk by Angel's younger sister, and they talked in Tagalog for a little while before parting ways. Angel left as well, and Johanna and I went to the Robinson's Mall. We went to the Handyman store to get a new faucet. Earlier in the day the kitchen faucet broke, so Johanna and I are going to replace it. We also bought some light bulbs, an Allan key set, teflon tape, and that's about it. We walked around the mall, enjoying one another's company. We bought some flavored fries from the Potato Corner (sour cream and onion and cheddar cheese flavored). After walking around the mall, we bought tickets for the new Captain America movie (Brave New World). We also bought the Double-A combo (two 16 ounce sodas and a box of popcorn). This is our cheat day. We will get back into shape after this brief sojourn. In the movie, I was simply pleased to be beside my love, my dearest Johanna. I can't tell you what the movie was about. I fell asleep soon after it started. I caught myself snoring a couple of times. Johanna woke me up once or twice to no avail. I still kept falling back asleep. Not sure why I'm so tired, other than the fact that I'm getting lazy and need to get into better physical shape. We left the movie and caught a ride back to the transient home of Angel and Ferds. We watched Alfred Hitchcock's notorious for a little while, then both of us passed out to sleep on the couch. The next thing I know, I awoke with slight neck pain because my head drooped sideways when I was asleep. It was already around 1:00am. We both retired for the evening; a wonderful Saturday in the books!
